Azure implementation project description:
The Azure implementation project involves setting up and configuring the Azure landing zone, a prerequisite for start using Azure resources and deploying or migrating servers/services to Azure. This project will connect the primary on-premise site/location and Azure through a dedicated Site-to-Site VPN connection established between the on-premise Sophos Firewall and Azure. Once the project concludes, the Azure landing zone will be fully prepared to accommodate resources based on the organization’s specific requirements and business needs.

There are numerous scenarios in which a company requires
the implementation of resources into Azure:
- For Unified Voice deployment, the Cloud SBC should be integrated with the PBX located within the LAN.
- Utilizing Azure for backup or redundancy purposes for another on-premise data center or site.
- Business Continuity – ability to quickly move workloads in case of unexpected events.
- Leveraging Microsoft Azure for flexible scalability, enabling the company to scale resources up or down as needed with minimal effort and capital investments
- Agility and Innovation – enables businesses to reduce time to market for rapid deployment and experimentation.
- Addressing occasional spikes in resource demand, such as additional servers or environments required for software introduction or development purposes.
- Implementing cost-saving measures by pausing unused environments, such as DEV or QA instances during weekends.
- Using Azure for the infrastructure and application services
Azure implementation project approach:
The project will define the landing zone for Azure (based on the requirements and legal aspects).
To ensure that the Azure landing zone is connected to the other landing zones (LAN, On-premise network, other data centers), we will implement an always-on VPN site-to-site connection between Azure and the highly available Sophos Firewall deployed on-premise.
