Unified Voice enablement in Microsoft Teams project description
The Unified Voice enablement in Microsoft Teams project aims to integrate Microsoft Teams with a PSTN Provider to make and receive business calls from anywhere, transforming Microsoft Teams into a robust office phone solution. Our highly skilled team specializes in implementing Microsoft-certified Session Border Controllers (SBCs) to connect Teams to your telecom provider securely. Our tailored Microsoft Teams Phone System solutions offer enhanced call quality, reliability, and flexibility, ensuring Microsoft Teams with phone integration becomes a Unified Communication platform for the organization.
In addition, Microsoft and numerous other third-party companies offer extensive supplementary features that can transform Microsoft Teams Voice into a complete unified messaging approach with additional devices, physical modern desk phone devices, complex script-based call center solutions, and integration with applications via API. These features, such as Call forwarding, Call routing, Auto Attendants and IVR (Interactive Voice Response), Call Queues, Call Analytics, and seamless Integration with Office 365, are designed to make your business communication more streamlined, efficient, and customized to fit your requirements. This comprehensive suite of features ensures a seamless transition to a unified voice platform, providing you with the necessary convenience and flexibility.
Unified Voice enablement in Microsoft Teams project implementation approach
Implementing the Unified Voice enablement in the Microsoft Teams project is a systematic and thorough process. During the initiation phase, we undertake a detailed assessment to determine if your country has a native SIP Service compatible with Microsoft Teams Voice (SIP Direct Routing provider named Microsoft calling plan). Suppose a Direct Routing provider is unavailable in your region. In that case, the proposed approach is the implementation of a Session Border Controller (SBC) between the PSTN Provider and Microsoft Teams Voice Service. This can be either a physical appliance or a software-based SBC. As part of the project, we recommend installing and configuring a Cloud-Based SBC, which is the most straightforward and efficient approach, ensuring a secure and reliable connection.
If you need to integrate Microsoft Teams with your existing PBX and migrate your phone system to Microsoft Teams, we have a dedicated project for that. Our Microsoft Teams Voice co-existence with the existing PBX System project is designed to ensure a smooth transition, minimizing disruption and ensuring compatibility between the two systems.
The next step is to create the design of the Teams Voice architecture, including the deployment model, network topology, normalization rules, and dial plan.
Following the end-to-end testing, which includes rigorous checks and simulations to ensure the system’s performance, reliability, and the organization’s approval, we deploy the agreed configurations and settings to all users. This deployment process is accompanied by Train the Trainer sessions, where we provide comprehensive training to your team to ensure they are prepared to use the new system effectively.
As part of this project, we include the design and the implementation of the additional features that are provided by Microsoft, such as:
• Call Forwarding and Routing: Users can easily set up call forwarding and routing rules to ensure calls are routed to the appropriate stakeholders meeting the organization criteria.
• Voicemail: Teams includes voicemail functionality, allowing users to receive and manage voicemails directly within the Teams interface.
• Auto Attendants and IVR (Interactive Voice Response): Organizations can set up auto attendants and IVR systems to automate call routing and provide callers with options to reach the appropriate department or individual.
• Call Queues: Teams support call queues, enabling organizations to efficiently manage incoming calls by distributing them among available agents.
Unified Voice enablement in Microsoft Teams project in-scope activities
• Deploy the necessary infrastructure components for Teams Voice, such as Session Border Controllers (SBCs) for Direct Routing or PSTN connectivity for Calling Plans.
• Configure Teams settings and policies for voice calling, including user phone numbers, call routing, voicemail, auto attendants, and call queues.
Implementing emergency calling capabilities is a critical part of the Unified Voice enablement in Microsoft Teams project. This process ensures that your organization complies with regulatory requirements for emergency services. We collaborate closely with your team to seize your unique requirements, ensuring that the solution we implement adheres to all requisite standards and regulations.
• Perform end-to-end testing
• Perform the train-the-trainer sessions
• Pilot and roll-out of the new services following organization communications
Unified Voice enablement in Microsoft Teams required hardware and software
• Depending on the availability of the Microsoft Calling plan in the region
• Session border controller (SBC) applications or as a software might be needed depending on the Calling Plan availability in your region.
Unified Voice enablement in Microsoft Teams pre-requirements
• Microsoft Phone System license is to be included in their Microsoft 365 subscriptions. Phone System is included with E5 licenses and can be added as an additional license in other Microsoft 365 subscriptions. During the pre-contractual phase of the project, we will help you choose the appropriate license.
